This week I’m breaking down why this is the last edition for the year and how I’m planning to end the year “strong”.
Connect with me on LinkedIn so we can keep the conversation going.
What a year this has been!
In the last 9 months, I have:
Launched my book Triggered 2 Triumph
Made a personal rebrand and repositioning
Been featured in VoyageATL & BOLD Journey Magazine, solidifying rebrand
Moved from Mobile, AL to New Orleans, LA
Launched this weekly lifetter
Launched my coaching program with T2T
Accepted a roster position on a speaking agency
And a couple of other things I’ll reveal in the new year
My birthday is November 16th, and this year I’m starting the habit of shutting down shop after my birthday to make sure I start the new year with a full tank!
That’ll also give new subscribers time to catch up on all the editions posted already to be caught when we hit the ground running to start 2024.
I’ll still take on private coaching clients and I may do a talking gig or two to end the year.
And I’ll make a study of books like “Pitch Anything” by Oren Klaff, “The Art of Impossible” by Steven Kotler, & “Grit” by Angela Duckworth.
But for the most part, this is my recovery season.
Remember from previous editions, flow isn’t a switch you flip, it’s a four-stage cycle: struggle, release, flow, and recovery.
Flow experts have even hinted that there may be a fifth stage in the cycle: pre-struggle.
The exert of energy from the growth mindset to prepare to struggle, after recovering, to start the cycle.
Last Words Of 2023…
If you haven’t caught up on the lifeletter yet and this is your first edition, you’re in for a treat.
Just to give you a sneak peek, my overall message is “Become A Lifelong Student-Athlete”.
A huge identity crisis we experience as student-athletes is realizing our time with our sport has come to an end, and knowing we have to transition to being a (insert BS title here). This approach further embeds within us that these titles are in fact who we are.
But they’re not…well maybe one is…
I’m turning 33 on the 16th and my life after sports transition started with I was 18 and failed to walk on and hoop at Tuskegee University.
But in these last 15 years; I have taken notes, listened to lectures, and read books as a STUDENT does. I have kept a healthy eating regimen, stayed hydrated, rested, and trained to start my powerlifting career, as an ATHLETE does.
In the very essence of the word, I’m still a student-athlete—a Lifelong Student-Athlete™.
Everything I learned from playing sports and being on teams, helps me today—why would I ever want to transition from embodying all of that?
I didn’t have to transition from being a student-athlete; I just had to transition from playing the finite game of my specific sport to playing the infinite game of life.
This is the “transition” we should be making!
Hope this added the fuel to ferociously launch your week and the rest of your year! ♾️🔥🚀
See you in March! 😎
And when it comes to the infinite game of life…
Choose Flow.

Ball Out.
